O blissful Gods, may I always keep on thanking
for the good things that I always have from you
and always are born, of which Zeus is the supreme giver.
May I never neglect the common good of the breed
I belong to, insofar as I can; willingly working well
for the common good, because I know that it’s also a great benefit for me.
May I never be the cause of evil, which I often run into,
for human beings, but instead of good, insofar as I can,
so that I’ll become blissful too, becoming similar to you.
