Obviously the current schema is a skeleton on which we must build the standard; the schema has been written on the basis of immediate needs at the moment in which the first edition has been prepared. With the discussion about the standard, we want to adapt the schema to needs coming also from different contexts than the Italian one, on the basis of future cooperation with pagan groups or other kind of groups from other European countries who could agree with purposes and ideas of the survey and want to take part to it. At the same time, an official standard could give more strictness to the database structure and on these basis we’ll value possible addition and changes.
An addition that could surely grant more strictness and more correctness to information given is information about sources from which we are learning about the existence of a prechristian sacred site reused in or as christian church; these sources can be books, studies, websites or parish publication. If there is any article or book dedicated to this site, information about them could be very interesting. From this point of view we could create a new block, the block 8-- if the schema would remain quite the same, even though numbering of blocks could be changed. The block could eventually be divided into apt fields, as an example according to the kind of sources (one fields for websites, one for books). When we start creating the database, we won’t need to fill all the fields immediately: some in particular, like this block or block 7--, could be updated lately while gathering photos or information.
